Steal Her Style: Carrie Underwood

I don't know about y'all, but I seriously love this girl. She's gorgeous, seems down to earth, and she's got style!

I also love the bomber jacket trend. Who's with me?

There's been a rise in rocker-chic style lately {guilty! this is so my jam ;)}, and all things 90s coming back.

90s fashion dabbled on the wild, rebellious side with a grunge movement that's a little, uhem, we'll say edgier than alternative rock, and infused with punk and heavy metal. So how are we re-working 90s style to be relevant today?

You've got to #dontcare! Ha! If you're into all the technology and social media. If you're not into all that, don't worry. I'm going to give you some tips to create your own 'cool girl' at any age and show you how to steal Carrie's style!

The bomber has taken the fashion world by storm with a new twist. Just browse the internet and you'll find fresh details and modern silhouettes.

So let's first steal her style, shall we?

As I said, you don't have to be into hashtags to rock this trend. I think any woman at any age can pull off this style if she wants.

Here's some tips to making it work at any age...

1. Play around with color and prints.

Fall and winter is a great time to incorporate some jewel tones in your wardrobe. By playing with them as a detail in your jacket, you don't have to go big with a major pop of color, and most jewel tones look great on all skin colors.

50+: don't be afraid to try this trend. Go as bold as you like {think leopard print!}, and maybe consider adding a scarf to really keep the look sharp.

2. Materials

There's no wrong way to go here. You can opt for a bomber in one material, choose one like Carrie's where the embroidery compliments the sequins giving her casual style a sophisticated touch, or mix and match as with a silk and leather combo.

50+: opt for a bomber in a simple material. Choose lace for a dressier, sophisticated look or opt for a knit material.

3. Go for the oversized fit

We saw a ton of oversized on the runways, and it's a great way to incorporate those chunky sweaters and shorter, flowy, flirty skirts and dresses.

50+: keep it chic in neutral tones.

4. Go Monochrome

Stay neutral and choose shades of one color for the season. Again jewel tones are spectacular and a fun way to freshen up the look.

50+: add a killer shoe- heel or flat to keep you chic and showing off that sophistication.

Style Note: for a chic date night or girl's night out, pair it with black denim, a heeled bootie, and a bold colored clutch.
